Ha funny huh!
So there is an island in Belize, Half Moon Caye...it is home to the "red footed booby" bird...and of course we have to go check it out!!!
They are the whiteish birds perched on the trees....they are everywhere!
The males mating sign...not that attractive if you ask me...
These males on the other hand......
i guess they never grow up... do they....?
I mean really....
I have to admit we did kinda giggle every time we talked about the red footed booby...
But then you see signs like this all over the island and wonder what the heee they are talking about.....sharks....is that necessary to warn us this much...are they that bad....OMG....are we safe...Thank goodness our boys are experienced shark divers ;)

On the way to the observation deck they had like a hermit crab crossing...they were everywhere...i mean you could hear it before you came up on it...

I am currently reading "A Salty Piece of Land" by Jimmy Buffet and right before we arrived on the island i was reading about the light house on Half Moon Caye....pretty ironic!
I'm not yet done with the book but it's totally trippy because almost every place he has talked about so far we've been to in the last few weeks...
so another great book, if you find a B&N on one of your stops.. blue latitudes... historical and real day trip of two brothers in law on a trip to follow captain cooks travels through the pacific (while mostly drunk!). read it on our trip to the cooks was a great backdrop to our adventures!!
